Beautifully Imperfect

How precious are the imperfections in your husband?
Do his bad habits reassure you or annoy you?
Would you miss his flaws and failures if he were gone tomorrow?

I pray that we may cherish and praise God for every detail of our husbands today.

Thanks Sho.

Wow. Thanks for sharing that Sharon. That was so beautiful. I cried like a baby.

For some reason there was no sound for me to hear the lady's tribute to her dead husband. I could tell from the giggles, she recounted funny episodes of her life with her husband and father of her children. I could see how much she loved and was going to miss him.

Several years ago, I was skiing with another family. The father had a heart attack and fell unconscious on the hill. He was airlifted to the nearest big city ICU and took days to regain consciousness. (Emergency Techs had gotten him breathing on the hill.) While he languished in his unconscious state, his wife recounts she sat at his bedside thanking God she could hear his snores. Usually his snoring bothered and irritated her.

My husband has the unnerving habit of leaving zippers and pocket flaps and drawers and doors all hanging open, things falling out of them, looking untidy and often messy. After 36 years of marriage, I have realized that I will never change him. Now, I smile and say, "That's my husband, and I love him the way he is," as I get up in the mornings and shut his bureau drawers, closet doors, and zip his breif case closed for him. :)

I fixed my speakers (they were on mute) and so I came back to listen to your post and see what I missed yesterday. Now, with tears on my cheeks, I am remembering all the silly imperfections of my loving Father. I too am hoping my children will find life parteners to cherish and be cherished by.
Thank you, Sharon, for this lovely post.

Can I get an Amen?
